Advanced Chords

At the beginning of this video series, my words were, “Dare to be simple; use basic chords.” Now it’s time to move beyond basic chords and the sequential patterns in Bigger Steps, to more advanced chords heard in jazz, such as tri-tone substitutes and altered mediants. Another enriching experience is the exploration of modes, including the mixing of modes. The video series concludes with a rather extensive treatment of modulation to all possible keys. After viewing the introductory video, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for a free lesson.
